A happy customer....

I’m so thrilled with my firepit –, I threw on some old tomato plants, a mouldy onion, some wet leaves from the back door step and a couple of wet logs (I literally had to dig one of them out of a deep pile of soaking wet leaves - it was from the beech tree that was felled a few weeks ago, so it definitely wasn’t seasoned) and I left the firepit to get on with it, while I spent the next 2 hours coaxing and nurturing the bonfire the gardeners had started earlier.   The bonfire is now just smouldering, whereas the firepit is still merrily burning away, despite some rain – all I did was shove the loose bits at the edge into the middle as I passed on my way inside and if it goes out, it will simply be because everything has burned away!  I’m sitting in the dining room watching it and it’s quite dark outside now, but it feels really cosy!

MetalFirePits.co.uk officially launches November 2009 - selling 3 versions of our fire pit product.

Our Story So Far......

Our first fire pit was built for our own purposes. With a lot of garden waste to dispose of and not wanting to burn a hole in the lawn we decided to design our first fire pit product. Our first fire pit, or perhaps we should more correctly call it a fire bowl, was built from 6mm mild steel and was incredibly heavy and also prone to rust. However, it did look good in the garden and a roaring fire in it did get through the garden waste much quicker than a bonfire because there was a much greater flow of air. Such was the interest amongst visitors to our factory we decided that others might like one for their own gardens and we set about refining the design and methods of manufacture. It was decided that it would be best to manufacture it from stainless steel to keep it in good condition. It seemed a pity to have such a strong unit to be used infrequently for burning garden waste and thought that it would be useful to have a grill so that customers could cook either barbeque or campfire style. Unlike traditional barbeques the unit is then able to take logs and provide a good source of heat while you sit outside and enjoy the evening air. At this point MetalFirePits.co.uk was launched.
